Full Professor at the Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA), where Coordinates the undergraduated course of Design. She is a tenured faculty member in the Graduate Program in Design at the Federal University of Maranhão (PPGDg/UFMA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the Federal University of Maranhão (1986), a certificate in Teacher Training from CEFET-MA (2000), a master’s degree in Production Engineering from the Federal Technological University of Paraná (2008), and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2014). In 2018, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Porto in Portugal. His scientific work focuses on the areas of inclusive design, assistive technologies, ergonomics, biomechanics, educational active methodologies. He actively mentors undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students on projects focused on accessibility and innovation, such as the development of educational resources for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the creation of tactile graphics for people with visual impairments. His career is also marked by projects that engage with the productive sector, such as the integration of artisanal weaving and industry.
